If you are looking for someone

1

Search by valley

Choose your valley and whether you need childcare or pet care. You see every profile without registering, without an app, without giving us your email.

2

Read everything

References are published in full, with the date. Certificates show which body confirmed them. The introduction video shows you how the person speaks.

3

Write first

This is the only paid step: a subscription if you live here, a Tourist Pass if you are on holiday, or a single contact unlocked on its own. Replying to someone who writes to you is always free.

4

Meet, then agree

Meet in person before the first engagement. You agree the rate and pay the sitter directly — we never touch that money and take no commission on it.

If you want to be a sitter

1

Sign up free

The form takes about ten minutes: who you are, what you can do, which valleys you can reach, when you are available and what you charge per hour.

2

Identity check

You send a photo of your ID and a confirmation selfie. We record the outcome and the date, not the document.

3

Ask two families for a written reference

First name, town, period, what you did. They sign it. It goes on your profile in full — this is what makes families write to you rather than to someone else.

4

Answer for free

Replying costs you nothing, ever. Sitters never pay to use AlpenSitter; the optional verification badges are the only thing you can buy.

Payments are currently switched off. Subscriptions and the Tourist Pass are not on sale yet. Everything else already works: you can browse, sign up as a sitter, and leave your email to be told when they open.

Start with the free part

Browsing profiles and signing up as a sitter cost nothing.
